Saturday, September 12th, 2009 is the date for the next Hemlock District Service Project. The location is at the Carroll Howard Johnson Environmental Education Park on Wagstaff Road in Fuquay Varina.
 
CHJEE Park is utilized by several Units in our District for Hiking, Biking, Animal identification and other Scout activities. Sadly, through the years, the Park has deteriorated.
 
We have chosen this project because CHJEE Park is in dire need. The truth is that any work we do there would be an improvement. There are numerous projects available. The 2009 Committee is in the project planning stage and will soon decide what projects would be feasible for Scouts to do in the timeframe allotted. We will keep you informed as plans are finalized.
 
As your Activities and Civic Service Chairman, I would like for all Units in the Hemlock District to be represented
 
Please include this Good Turn in your Unit’s next program planning meeting and be sure to put it on your calendars. 
 
This is a great opportunity for the Scouts to help our District qualify for the Centennial Quality District Award and also to give back to the community.
 
Will you help? Please respond, via the email listed below, as soon as possible so we can make this happen for the Hemlock District, CHJEE Park, and the community.

2009 Hemlock District Pinewood Derby Results

Wow! What a Pinewood Derby we had this year. We broke all sorts of track records and we had a spectacular turnout. There were 112 scouts racing and they represented 14 different Cub Scout Packs.
